The candle, which is surrounded by a strong metal frame and a glass chimney, is ignited in a flash—slide the chimney down and light the exposed wick. The spring-powered tube pushes the candle up as it burns, ensuring a consistent, steady flame. Monitor the candle for remaining burn time through the viewing slit on the side of the lantern.
