Suunto

Suunto Oy is a Finnish company that manufactures and markets sports watches, dive computers, compasses and precision instruments. Suunto’s head office is located in Vantaa, Finland. Its products are sold in more than 100 countries. Most of the work stages of Suunto’s products are still done by hand, even though it has its own factory for production. Suunto is a subsidiary of Amer Sports, which since 2019 has been owned by the Chinese Anta Sports.

The history of Suunto’s products dates back to 1936, when the Finnish navigator Tuomas Vohlonen set out to create a more accurate compass and later invented a new method for manufacturing liquid-filled compasses. Today, Suunto is a pioneer in the design and innovation of sports watches, dive computers and instruments used by adventurers around the world.
