The award-winning Katadyn Vario is a powerful and versatile water filter designed for small groups. With its compact and lightweight design, it’s the perfect outdoor companion. This filter is adjustable to different conditions, making it suitable for clear or dirty water. It eliminates bacteria, protozoa, cysts, algae, spores, sediments, and also reduces chemicals while improving taste and odor through its replaceable activated carbon granulate.
The Vario uses a ceramic disk as a cleanable dirt shield and glassfiber for microbiological filtration, ensuring minimal pump resistance. In “LONGER LIFE” mode, it pre-filters turbid water through the ceramic disk, offering an output of approximately 1 L/min. In “FASTER FLOW” mode, the water is directed straight to the glassfiber membrane, increasing the flow to up to 2 L/min.
With its dual piston mechanism, the Vario provides a continuous water flow with minimal effort. The rubber base ensures a secure stand, and the integrated bottle thread fits directly onto Nalgene bottles with wide mouths. The capacity of the Vario is up to 2,000 liters, depending on water quality. Replacement filters are available separately.
