Spend a day in Inari discovering Sámi culture and northern traditions through authentic local encounters. This experience combines visits and time outdoors in a meaningful way, offering a deeper understanding of life in the Arctic.
The day includes a visit to a traditional reindeer farm, where you’ll meet the animals up close, feed them, and learn about their central role in local livelihoods. You’ll hear how the seasons shape daily life and how reindeer herding connects to culture, traditions, and identity.
You’ll also visit the Sámi Museum Siida, awarded European Museum of the Year 2024. The exhibitions offer a clear and engaging introduction to Sámi history, culture, and Arctic nature. The displays of Siida tell about the cultural heritage, built heritage and livelihoods of the three Sámi cultures in Finland.
During the day, we gather in a traditional Lappish tipi where your guide prepares lunch over an open fire. It’s a simple and enjoyable moment to share food together in a natural setting.
This experience is a well-rounded introduction to the region, bringing together culture, nature, and local ways of life in one day.
