This is where the Sámi people have lived in harmony with nature for millennia, and where you'll discover what wilderness truly means. Dense boreal forests give way to Arctic tundra. Crystal rivers carve through ancient valleys. Wild reindeer roam freely across landscapes that haven't changed in thousands of years.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your Lapland summer adventure
The best time is from late June to mid-August. During this period, you'll experience the midnight sun (24-hour daylight), and all summer activities are available. While most days range 15-22°C, occasional warm spells can reach 25-28°C (77-82°F)—still far more comfortable than southern Europe's 40°C+ extremes. For the magical midnight sun phenomenon, aim for late June to early July.
Fly to Ivalo Airport (IVL) from Helsinki with Finnair. Flight time is about 1.5 hours. We arrange everything from your airport transfers onwards—to your accommodation, between activities, and back to the airport. Helsinki has excellent connections to most European capitals. We can also help plan arrivals through Norway—combining Oslo, Tromsø, or Kirkenes with your Lapland adventure for a true Nordic journey.
Summer in Lapland offers incredible variety: hiking and fell trekking in national parks, kayaking and SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) on pristine rivers and lakes, fishing for Arctic char and grayling, mountain biking and fatbiking, wild berry and mushroom foraging, bushcraft and survival skills workshops, Lake Inari cruises with Sámi cultural insights, visits to local museums (including Siida Sámi Museum), tent sauna experiences with cold lake swimming, snorkeling in crystal-clear Arctic waters, gold panning, photography workshops, midnight sun watching, wildlife tours, and much more.
Absolutely! Finnish Lapland is perfect for families. Activities can be adapted for all ages, from gentle nature walks to exciting but safe adventures. Many families appreciate the endless daylight (no bedtime battles!), clean environment, and educational experiences.
Pack layers! Even in summer, evenings can be cool (10-15°C). Bring: waterproof jacket, comfortable hiking boots, insect repellent (mosquitoes are active in June-July), sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sleep mask if you're sensitive to light when sleeping, and swimsuits for refreshing lake dips and traditional Finnish sauna experiences.
Yes, mosquitoes are part of the natural ecosystem from late June to early August, especially near water and wetlands. However, use of responsible repellents and suitable clothing makes them manageable. Mosquitoes are less bothersome in windy areas, on higher ground, and near the Arctic coast. By mid-August, they've mostly disappeared. Think of it as part of experiencing authentic wilderness—we give you the tools to enjoy nature comfortably without compromising the environment.
Absolutely! We can create for you multi-destination Nordic journeys. Popular combinations include Helsinki (for urban culture and design), Rovaniemi (Santa's hometown and Arctic Circle experiences), the Norwegian Arctic coast (Kirkenes and North Cape for midnight sun coastal scenery), and even Iceland for volcano landscapes. We design these itineraries to flow naturally, arranging all transfers, accommodations, and activities so each destination complements the others. A typical combination might be 3 days in Helsinki, 5 days in Lapland wilderness, and 2 days exploring the Norwegian Arctic coast.
Our packages are flexible, but typically include: round-trip airport transfers (Helsinki and Ivalo), all accommodations (hotels, cabins, or lodges), selected activities and equipment, guided tours, 24/7 emergency contact in Finland, and pre-departure briefing. Flights to Finland, meals (except where specified), and travel insurance are not included. We also arrange optional add-ons: private guides, special dietary catering, additional activities, or transportation for multi-destination itineraries.
