Aquapac specializes in waterproof bags and closure systems. The company was founded in 1983. Its headquarters and the factory are located in London, Great Britain. Aquapac International Limited is a registered trademark and brand name and holds worldwide patents for bag and case closure systems.
Development of the Aquapac range began with a waterproof case for the original Sony Walkman, known as the ‘Aquaman’, followed by cases for handheld VHF radios. After Motorola invented the first mobile phone, Aquapac launched the world’s first waterproof mobile phone case. Nokia was an important customer in these cases in the 1990s, as were mobile phone operators such as Deutsche Telekom and NTT DoCoMo. Aquapac released waterproof cases for other hand-held electronics such as cameras and readers.
